Crawler policy
KartdexBot is the crawler that reads go-kart venues' websites for Kartdex. This page describes how it behaves and how to keep it away.
How it behaves
It identifies itself as KartdexBot with a link to this page. It reads robots.txt before every site, including path-level rules and crawl-delay, and it never fetches a page a site disallows. It fetches a handful of pages per site (home, prices, opening hours, contact, booking), waits between requests, caps page size, and returns roughly monthly to check for changes. It downloads images only when they appear to be price boards, to read the prices on them.
What it does with the pages
Facts about the venue (prices, session lengths, age and height limits, opening hours, kart types, booking method, facilities) are extracted and published with a quote and a link to the page they came from. Page text is not republished. Reviews are never collected.
Opting out
Add User-agent: KartdexBot and Disallow: / to your robots.txt and the crawler stops at the next visit. To have an existing listing corrected or removed, use the correction form or write to .
