Kartdex

Privacy

This page explains what Kartdex stores when you use the site, and why. The short version: no accounts, no advertising, no tracking of individuals.

Cookies and local storage

Kartdex sets one cookie for your cookie choice (cd_consent, 180 days) and one for your language (NEXT_LOCALE). Your light or dark theme choice is kept in your browser's local storage. None of these identify you. There are no analytics cookies today; if optional analytics are added, they will run only after you accept them in the cookie banner, which you can reopen from the footer.

Anonymous usage counts

When you open a venue page or click a venue's website, booking, phone or email link, the site adds one to a daily counter for that venue, link type, page type and language. No IP address, cookie, user id or timestamp is stored with it. These aggregate counts tell us which listings are useful; they cannot be linked to a person, so they run without consent on the basis of legitimate interest.

Correction form

If you send a correction, we store the message, the venue it concerns, and the name and email you choose to give, so a moderator can check the correction and reply if needed. You can ask for your submission to be deleted at any time by writing to .

Maps

Maps are drawn with MapLibre from OpenFreeMap tiles, which are based on OpenStreetMap data. Loading a map sends your IP address to the tile server, as with any web resource. No Google Maps is embedded; the "Get directions" link opens Google Maps only if you click it.

Your rights and contact

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and complain to your national data protection authority. Write to . The site operator is named in the legal notice.
